Creating a Self-Sustaining Culture of Leadership Development using Insights Discovery & Motivational Maps

Updated: 1 day ago

THE COLLABORATION

Binnies, is a fast-growing business with a rich 100-year heritage in providing water engineering solutions. They specialise in efficiently collecting, storing, moving, and treating water and wastewater globally. With diverse departments, Binnies are on a leadership development journey to foster motivated, self-aware leaders who can set their teams up for success.

Binnies have chosen Blue Gnu as their Leadership Development Partner to design and deliver tailored leadership programmes to meet their strategic goals.

We've now got a business that is far more aligned with where we're going. So people are now turning up going, 'Okay, I know we're going to grow. I know my team's going to grow. I've got to think about how I'm going to get there'

Phil Richards

Talent Development Manager at Binnies

THE CHALLENGES

Binnies face a unique set of challenges with a growing workforce, especially within their leadership ranks. Many leaders had never have the opportunity to think deeply about how they lead or how to manage their expanding teams. With rapid growth and a diverse workforce, ensuring alignment with organisational goals is key.

THE SOLUTION

Blue Gnu designed a bespoke leadership programme that integrates both Insights Discovery & Motivational Maps, allowing leaders to gain self-awareness about their workplace preferences and motivators.

We're already into our fifth cohort, with the sixth due to start just after Summer 2025.

The modules are tailored to Binnies specific goals. The programme emphasises leadership as a mindset, not just a set of skills or tools, to help individuals connect better with their teams and align their personal leadership styles with organisational objectives.

It’s been a pleasure partnering with Phil and the Binnies team on the Binnies 1000 Leadership Programme. The growth in self-awareness, leadership impact, and personal development from participants has been inspiring.
